Duties
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the chemical, biological, or radiological International Standards Organization Standard Number 17025 compliance program(s) for CBRN Consequence Management laboratories in the Army.
- Formulate findings and design corrective actions that meet the needs of the CBRN Response Enterprise and other Homeland capabilities programs. Ensure compliance with national planning objectives.
- Prepare written reports detailing the data, rationale, plans, costs, benefits, conclusions and recommendations for each study.
- Synchronize the development or implementation of Homeland capabilities-related DOTMLPF products between appropriate MSCoE activities and the appropriate outsourced effort.
- Coordinate input to standards for equipping and training Chemical (CM) programs with other government agencies, to include the Interagency Board, Department of State, Department of Justice, and other national level working groups.
- Ensure that issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing, unless currently occupying a TDP within the Department of Defense.
- Applicants with verified positive test results shall be refused employment. A job offer to an applicant who is not a current employee will be withdrawn if the applicant refuses to be tested.

** To qualify for the Interdisciplinary Scientist in the field of a Biologist, the following Basic Education requirements must be met. **
Basic Requirement for Biologist (Series 0401) A. Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
To qualify for the Interdisciplinary Scientist in the field of a Chemist, the following Basic Education requirements must be met. **
Basic Requirement for Chemistry (Series 1320) A. Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in the physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering which includes 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
